You don't want to get into this mentality where you think others are out to make your life miserable - any slights here are most likely unintentional. A lot of our interpretations about what others are doing can be driven by what we think they should be doing, but these ideas might not be aligned. You might need to go above and beyond what's normally expected of you to achieve this, though that can work to your benefit through dispelling doubts others might have. Talk can be pretty cheap here, but if you have evidence that can't be questioned, it will help you win a lot of arguments.
